THE STORY BEHIND MY BANDIT

In 1977 I was 8 years old.  My Dad took me and my little sister to see a new movie called ‘Smokey and the Bandit.’  It starred one of the most beautiful cars I had ever seen.  From that day on, I knew I had to have one...someday.  In 2006, my dream came true!

This is a Y-82 1977 Pontiac Trans Am Special Edition.  It currently has 63,000 original miles, a numbers-matching Pontiac 400 V-8 engine, 4-speed Hurst transmission, tan interior and T-tops.  Only 2,699 were ever made like that.

The car was originally purchased in Arizona, where it was driven regularly until 1982.  At that time, it had 42,000 miles on the odometer.  I purchased it in 2006 from Dave Hall at Restoreamusclecar.com.  They did a great job restoring and repainting the car.  Today, it only has 63,000 original miles.
